The Education Welfare Service (EWS) provides high quality professional support to schools to ensure that parents/carers fulfil their statutory obligation to send their child to school regularly.

The Education Welfare Service (EWS) provides high quality professional support to schools to ensure that parents/carers fulfil their statutory obligation to send their child to school regularly. The EWS also tracks pupils who go missing from school and ensure those young people who have part-time jobs or perform in entertainment are safe and protected from harm.

Service standards

•The service is compliant with all of the statutory service standards as laid out in the Education Regulations and other relevant codes of practice.
•A named Education Welfare Officer for your setting.
•Initial response to requests for advice or support within 48 hours and with agreed follow up.
